They already do. They will be converting all their B757 and A300 aircraft
to more-standard seat pitch. Just look at the plane type for your segments.
You run the risk of closer spacing if you fly on either of these types. The
schedule will tell you what equipment is used for each flight.

On my last sequence of AA flights, I chose flights avoiding these types,
even though I suppose few if any of the planes have been converted yet.

I also chose to connect at STL, not ORD or DFW, since those two have
frequent delays. Too bad AA is downsizing STL.
