Default Why are deadly weapons allowed to be carried on planes by everyone?

Russell Crowe (Cinderella Man, The Beautiful Mind, etc.) was charged
for a "4th degree assault with a deadly weapon" by the NY Police,
and the deadly weapon was his cell phone.

Question: See subject.

- Bob.
