How to pass 11 countries in 24 hours, using only train and eventually
city transport if the town has several stations?

Breclav (17:03)- Bratislava (18:40) - Parndorf (19:22) - Hegyeshalom
(19:45) - Zurich (6:30) -
Olten (7:06) - Basel (7:56) - Strasbourg (9:55) - Metz (11:59) -
Luxembourg (13:24) - Namur (15:33) - Liege Guillemins (16:24) and
arrive to Maastricht at 16:54.

The times in brackets are departure times.

The countries are Czechia, Slovakia, Austria (three times entered),
Hungary, Germany, Liehtenstein, Switzerland, France, Luxemboug,
Belgium, Netherlands. (the train does not stop in Germany and
Liechtenstein, only passes them)

-----------
10 countries only. You're missing Germany as the trains RE 96204
Basel-Strasbourg and RE 30334 Strasbourg-Metz are routed over French
territory only.

Why would you want to do that?

For example to enter Guinness book of records, or at least to prove
that it is possible to make the same as already existing Guinness
record carrier. (I will not do it, by the way. My Bosnian passport
requires visa for every single country mentioned in a list.).

Why would you want to do that?

I've known people who've tried to alight at all the underground
situations in a particular city in a similar period of time. Possible in
some cities in Europe, though not all!

Very easy to do in both Amsterdam and Rotterdam on the same day, and have
plenty of time for sightseeing on top of that.
:-)

Now I think about it, you could probably visit all the underground
stations in the UK north of Watford in one day, including the train
trips between cities!

All the Metro stations in Helsinki would be very easy.

Probably so, but does Helsinki offer any interesting sightseeing
highlights apart from the subway stations?

I think that's the second time you've asked that. If you want to say "I
think that's boring" you ought to say so, but people get fun out of
different things. Personally, I think it's better to let people enjoy
what they do (without comment, when I behave), providing they cause no
harm to others.

Lennart, you're obviously good at this. What would be your best 'hit' of
different countries in Europe by rail in 24 hours?

Think it's difficult to beat 10 countries but maybe it's possible to
include a route Basel-Offenburg-Strasbourg over Germany. Problem is to be
in the timeframe.

You think? Look above.

If you want to say "I
think that's boring" you ought to say so, but people get fun out of
different things. Personally, I think it's better to let people enjoy
what they do (without comment, when I behave), providing they cause no
harm to others.

And I'm asking why they would enjoy that? Serious question. If
it's for frivolity, that's a reason, I guess.

Define "interesting".

I find Helsinki interesting. But not as a tourist "here's another
photo trophy for the slide show" sort of way.
