Not the most euphonious or well chosen of names, IMHO :-)
Foodapest sounds like it might be sponsored by the FDA. "Pest"
is not much of an attraction in English even if it no longer
carries so many overtones of danger. Wasn't the "Black Death" an
outbreak of bubonic plague, caused by the bacterium Yersinia
pestis?

Well, even to me, whose native tongue is italian and not english, sounds
like food-a-pest :-) unattractive ... "peste" is still used in
italian, both to indicate a disease ("peste suina" is a plague of pigs),
or an annoying person, typically a child ("piccola peste").

GD "peste" is still used in italian, both to indicate a
GD disease ("peste suina" is a plague of pigs), or an annoying
GD person, typically a child ("piccola peste").

English has pretty similar usage for a nuisance even if insect
pests are regarded as more serious and call for eradication.
"Pestilence" is more usual for disease .

Call it Foodapesto then! Pesto surely conjures up good thoughts!
