Default Picking up a rental car at JFK

Hi,

I am flying into JFK in two weeks and picking up a rental car from Dollar.

Last time I did this at JFK I called the rental company (I think it was
Avis) and they came to pick me up.

Now, with the airtrain, I'm a bit confused.

Do I take the airtrain to station C and walk over or do I have to get picked
up.

Thanx

Gadi

Since no one answered, here is my experiece:

After you claim you bags and go through customs, you go up to the
airtrain and take it to station C.
There are trains that do not leave the airport, so make sure the train
says that it will get to station C.

Most of the rental companies are located within a short walking
distance from station C. For those that are off airport, the shuttles
leave from station C.
