Legroom
"Howard Yates" wrote in message ...
We are planning a round the world trip over Christmas/New Year. I am 6'4" tall and always have legroom problems in economy class. I have found out that American, Air France, Lufthansa and Air Canada have more legroom than other airlines. Were do you have the information from that Lufthansa offers more legroom than other airlines? LH has 31 inches of seat pitch which is very tight IMHO, but unfortunately pretty much the industry standard these days. American Airlines offers between 33" and 35" on most planes. Notable exceptions are the B757 and the A300 which have 31" only! AFAIK Thai and Air New Zealand have 34" at least on some planes. World Traveller Plus (38") on BA might be an option as well, I don't know how this fits into a RTW ticket though. I suggest you check out www.seatguru.com and www.seatexpert.com BTW I've never bought a RTW ticket myself, but I've noticed that the fare for business class is often only about double the economy fare, while the difference is usually much higher on standard round-trip tickets. If you're 6'4" and not on a tight budget, it might be worth it. Andi |
