Default hiking and maps in Kerala (Western Ghats) India.

I had asked about maps for these mountains.. no-one responded.
After returning from the trip i can give this much info:

the moutains surrounding Munnar (the town we stayed in ) are all leased to
(owned by) Tata Tea corp. Tata has maps of the region but it won't be easy
to get them.
When hiking thru these moutains (also known as the southern himalayas) one
has to go to the forest ranger and ask for a guide there. Being the only
ones on those mountains it was quite a nice experience..

cheers,

ben
