Default Jamaica - Cuba

Hi,

My wife and I are off to Jamaica for 2 weeks and want to spend a night
or two in Cuba. I've read that in Montego Bay it is easy to find
travel agents who will sort out flights and accomodation. Is this the
case and if so what sort of prices do they ask for?

Thanks for any response,

Graeme

I inquired about this at TA in Negril last year and was already to get
going when it was pointed out to me that all I needed was a Valid passport.
Mine had expired and I never even noticed it until she picked up on it. Not
needed it to travel to JA I never had to present it. I never got a price as
I would have probably paid whatever she asked. Spur of the moment stuff
always cost me more

This at least can give you some ideas of flight schedules and prices:

We flew from Jamaica to Havana a few years ago. We were staying
in Kingston, but the flight went via Montego Bay on the way out.
(Air Jamaica, Kingston-M'Bay-Havana-Kingston). Price wasn't
too bad as I recall between $100 and $200, doesn't return directly
to M'Bay. If you're staying only a couple of nights, pick a nice
hotel in Havana and stay there.

Forget a stayover in Cuba. Really not worth it. I tried the same
myself and it was more hassle than relaxing... Rather use your time
and explore Jamaica a bit further.

Cheers,
T!

You can do a search on AirJamaica site for schedules. I think it was around
$300 RT. You can make a reservation with AirJamaica by phone but you can't
pay for it until you get to Jamaica.

Depends where from, I suppose. We booked and had issued tickets on
AirJam from another country.

Yes, that's true. There's a few travel-agent's right on the main road
("Hip-Strip"), just opposite the Doctor's Cave beach. I remember seeing one
next to the Caribic-House Hotel, that seemed to be specialized in Cuba.

Can't remember any prices, though.

Regards,

Frank
