Car hire in Uganda?
Hello all,
I'm thinking of doing a self-drive trip in Uganda at the end of the year. Does anyone know where I can hire a reasonable car for about 10 days at a reasonable rate? The mainstream car hire places START at around $65 per day which is ridiculous. Regards, Marc |

Car hire in Uganda?
Worth noting is that it might actually be cheaper if you hire both a
car and driver. Cab drivers in Kampala aren't pulling in anywhere near $65 a day, and you probably wouldn't have any problem convincing one to show you around the country for a couple weeks. But yeah, that's pretty steep. Especially considering you can get the full-on safari treatment including driver, meals and accomodation for that much. By the way, Uganda rocks. The safari industry hasn't sucked the soul out of it like Kenya and Tanzania. People there are genuinely friendly and not just trying to get your money. Good luck!
