Default HCMC - Hanoi by train

My wife and I took the train from Hanoi to HCMC last year.

We stopped in Hue enroute.

The sleepers consists of a room with 4 fixed bunks. Not as accomodating for
sitting as moveable bunks would be.

Since we boarded for overnight segments, this was OK.

Ample room for modestly sized luggage.

I don't recall a dining car but some food is offered from a cart.

Toilet facilities were acceptable but not Canadian standards.

Enjoy your trip.

I should add: for a reliable agent try www.haivenu-vietnam.com . They were
very helpful in setting up a private 7 day cooking tour to suit our schelude
and interests [at better price and features than Imaginative Traveler].
Although they thought flying was a better option than the train, they were
and to accomodate any interest and budget.

Thanks again John - we'll probably train one-way, fly the other. Hue looks
like a worthwhile stop as well.
