Default Lake Louise accom. or in the way of Jasper

Hi,

This summer my wife and I will go by car from Vancouver to Calgary. I
have read a lot of messages and have learnt from all you a lot about
different spots to visit.
I think we have tied almost all the journey but it still remains one
place to stay overnight to be decided. Is there any accomodation that
modest pockets can afford around Lake Louise? I mean, I have only seen
Chateau offer. If not, please could anybody suggest me a place in the
way of Jasper (north) rather than in the way of Banff (south).
Thanks,
Roger.

On top of these, there is a campsite and there is a HI hostel. I stayed at
the hostel a couple of weeks ago, and it very nice, although a bit
expensive for a hostel (I paid about $38 incl. taxes for a night). Make a
reservation ahead of time.
Other options in the neighbourhood include West Louise Lodge and Cathedral
Mountain Lodge (along highway 1 west of LL), Mosquito Creek Hostel along
the Icefields Parkway, Morane Lake Lodge (at Moraine Lake!) or Baker Creek
Chalets just a bit in the direction of Banff along the Bow Valley Parkway.

Regards,

André

Just yesterday I was looking for a place for my inlaws to stay while we are
in Lake Louise (we are camping) The Lake Louise Inn seems to be the cheapest
...standard room for two adults was around $159.00+ tax. They didn't have the
Standard room available for our dates only more expensive rooms. I don't
know if that is in your price range and I'm not sure what dates during the
summer you will be there so there may be none of those rooms. Here's the
link.................

On the Lake Louise ad, click on "book" and you can check availbilty. Also
here is the link for all of the Rockies

There are some cheaper B&B's and a Lodge in Field BC
which is only 27km from Lake Louise. Its also very handy for
Yoho National Park

I stayed in the Kicking Horse Lodge at the end of June
which was fine.

When we visited Lake Louise we stayed in Golden on the 95 about 1,5
hour drive from Lake Louise. There are plenty motels for reasonably
prices. During our visit of Jasper we stayed in PocaHontas, about 1
hour drive from Jasper..

Interesting stuff. I have a niece that just got back from Lake O'Hara.
Do you have any articles about it and the surrounding areas. I haven't
had time to research it. I am thinking of it as an alternative to
Banff and Lake Louise. Anything will help. TIA .Joe
