gorgecostanza What exactly *is* mutton? /georgecostanza

I'm not aware of having seen any, in all my 55 years in London!

What are the most common fast food chains around London?
Anything with more locations than McDonalds and KFC and UK based?

Maybe not too fast, but Sausage & Mash is a small chain of restaurants in
London specialising in what you would expect from its name. From on-line
reviews, the satisfaction of users seems to vary widely from one branch to
another.
The obvious URL has been occupied, but is not currently accessible.

Regards,

- Alan (in Brussels)

It was a mutton burger. It was right after the BSE scare so perhaps it
wasn't a regular item. Anyway, it was in fast food type place (sit
down) and significantly cheaper than a beef hamburger.

Until I read your post I honestly though it was a British food staple.

After I saw that Seinfeld episode, I thought it was a US food staple! :-)
