The company that owned them bought Burger King, and converted the vast majority to BK's, then the remaining ones were sold off, and there are maybe 20 or so still around. If you really, really want a Wimpy burger, there's one in Uxbridge. Go to the end of the Piccadilly or Metropolitan lines, walk out of the tube station by the exit directly in front (not the one to your right), turn left and walk up the High Street past the Sony and Jessop shops. Right at the end of the High Street, just before the traffic island, you'll find a Wimpy on your left. Come to think of it, if you're that desperate, carry on out of town to Brunel University, ask for me in the Business School, and I'll treat you to a coffee to take away the taste! Alan Harrison |

"John" a écrit dans le message de ... What are the most common fast food chains around London? Anything with more locations than McDonalds and KFC and UK based? Maybe not too fast, but Sausage & Mash is a small chain of restaurants in London specialising in what you would expect from its name. From on-line reviews, the satisfaction of users seems to vary widely from one branch to another. The obvious URL has been occupied, but is not currently accessible. Regards, - Alan (in Brussels) |

It was a mutton burger. It was right after the BSE scare so perhaps it
wasn't a regular item. Anyway, it was in fast food type place (sit down) and significantly cheaper than a beef hamburger. Until I read your post I honestly though it was a British food staple. Sam |
