Insurance for privat-rented cars ?

In August I'll go to Chicago were my halfsister wants to give me her
car for almost 3 weeks. Is it possible to make an extra insurance for
this time ? Like in Germany "Vollkasko" a fully comprehensive
cover ??? Normally when I rent a car I only take one with full
insurance.

Most US insurance covers people driving the car with the insured
owner's permission as long as they have a valid driver's license.
If you are under 25, she may have to have you specifically added
to her insurance policy. She needs to ask her insurance agent.

Remember that unlike that Autobahn, US highways have *enforced*

I like the "relaxing" way of driving in the USA.
