Default Hotel selection

Hi Everyone,

Ill be staying in Beijing for 7 days in September. I'm thining of staying at the Wangfujing Grand Hotel because it is so close to all the major sites near the Forbidden City. One drawback that I've heard is that the subway stations are about a twenty minute walk away.

For anyone who is familiar with that area of Beijing, are there convenient public transportation near that hotel to the subway stations? Walking twenty minutes back to the hotel form the subway station after a day's excursion to sites not near the Forbidden City is not appealing.

If anyone has suggestions of other hotels in the area. Let me know.

Thanks.

The hotel is in prime position. My experience is only with the Peninsula
Palace Hotel which was one of the nicest places I've ever stayed. Fantastic
breakfast BTW. I think when I was there you indeed would have had a 20
minute walk from that far north. However, they have added line 5 which I
find a hard time believing it would take that interval of time.
Also, it was my experience to take a fairly decent map with anytime I got in
a taxi which I did but once in 4 days. Also, of course take the hotels
business card with as well. Have a great trip. s
If anyone has suggestions of other hotels in the area. Let me know.

Thanks.
