Default Advance Booking for Globe Theatre

Greetings,

I will be in London for a few days next month and would like to see a
play at the Globe. Is advance booking recommended? I see that The
Winter's Tale is playing while I am there at 1:00 or 6:30 and really
would like to wait until I am there to see which time works out better.
Also weather may be a factor. However, I don't want to not book and
then be out of luck with no seats left, or only the really expensive
seats left. Seeking advice!

Quite the opposite, I believe. I've certainly walked up on a sunny
afternoon (midweek) and purchased a couple of £5 tickets without much
ado. I think I saw a poster recently advertising that they hold some
"groundling" tickets for each session, but I can't find anything about
that on their website.

Of course, for £5 you have to stand for the whole play, but if you don't
have a medical problem, that should not be too onerous.

I'd suggest walking up the morning of the day you want to go, and if you
can't get a ticket then, you should be able to book one for the next day
or two with a better idea of the weather.
