Just saw this on cruise critics:

MSNBC has a first person account on their website as apparently one of
their editors was vacationing on the Star.

That would be the same Cruise Critics that Rex, who just happens to own or
at least promote a competing website, said was "down again"?

When Peter Berlin posted the first message from one of is clients my first
thought was that someone tossed a lit cigarette over the side and it landed
on his clients balcony and theirs was the only cabin effected.

When LES! posted the link to the MSNBC video I was shocked to see the extent
of the damage including, as has been mentioned, the melted metal of the
balconies.

Being a fire investigator in my yout' (albeit not involving cruise
ships and 20 years ago now) that was what caught my eye. Especially
since they were melted in a number of different floors and not all were
connected. Almost looked like 4-5 different hot spots. A lot of the
blackness was probably smoke soot, which is looks more impressive than
it really is, but there was still a lot of obvious and wide-spread flame
damage.

After looking at the picture of the ship, it is a miracle that only one
life was lost in the tragedy. It could have been so much worse!!!
