Lodging around Leadville, CO
Hi,
does anyone have recommendations for affordable Hotels or Motels in the Area Mindville - Leadville - Buena Vista - Salida Carbondale - Basalt - Aspen - Independence Pass If not: good Campgrounds in that area? We want to go Mt. Massive + Mt. Elbert, probably some more 14ers, but none of us really likes camping (one winter training with the army and you'll never want to see a tent again ;-), so Motels/Hotels would be preferred. Some recommendable hikes in that area apart these two 14ers? Capitol Peak is told to be beautiful - but hard... No rock climbing We will stay there for about10 days plus five days of acclimatization in lower Levels (Zion, Bryce) before. Price range $50-$70 per room would be ok, ~$40 would be nice Thanks in advance, And |

Never stayed at a hotel there but I can tell you that the park at Turquiose
Lake just outside of Ledville was one of the most beautiful places we ever camped. And if Quincy's Steak house is still open in Ledville then go there. You will never find a better deal on dinner. http://www.usbr.gov/gp/recreate/turqrec.htm |
