Germany : Ride a 100 year old Monorail
A little known city in Germany called Wuppertal (Near cologne, north of
Frankfurt) is home to an interesting monorail. Called the 'Schwebebahn', this monorail has been in operation for over 100 years. As a public transportation system it serves over 20 million customer per year. If you travel to Germany, you should plan to stop by and see, or better, ride this train. Ah yes, and the city, located in a valley in the lower hill country of western Germany is well worth a visit too. For some more details and lots of photos go to http://schwebebahn.com The site is in German AND English. --------------------------------------------- http://www.schwebebahn.com |
