Biarritz in a day

hallo all,

I am going to be in Biarritz for just one day in about 2 weeks time. I
will arrive by train and plan to head to the beach.

Can anyone tell me how far the station (coming from Paris)is from the
beach? I have read that it is 3 km away from the old town but I don't
know exactly where the old town is.

Any tips on which beach is best? I was thinking of just walking the
whole length of them (but there seems to be a rocky bit heading out
into the sea...)

The taxi takes about twenty minutes to the Casino,
which is located on the beach.
Busses take a little longer.
