Default Bali in December

It's supposed to be rainy season, but how bad is the situation really in
December? Is it days and days of overcast skies and non-stop rain or is
it days with perhaps one hour of heavy rain in the afternoon and after
that a nice sunny blue sky?

Default Bali in December

I was there for one whole rainy season. but it's about 10 years ago.
I remember only one week of really hard rain. The other days it wasn't
so bad. But from another place in Indonesia (Bukittinggi), i remember
every year was completely different.
Really worse in Bali was (only) in the rainy season the trash in the
sea. Unbelievable. But only in the south of Bali.(Kuta to Nusa Dua) The
North looked ok.

I was in Bali during raining season several times. No problem at all,
some days with a rainy afternoon, but just for 1-2h. Sky is often
overcast, but this is not necessarily a drawback (depends on activity).
Situation is quite different in the different regions of the island ...
I experiences rainy season in bali not as problems compared with islands
further east (lombok - flores etc.)

Well, for photography a nice blue sky is preferable to an overcast sky.

Perhaps on the top of Agung sometimes.

That sounds not okay. Well it would be better if you choose not rainy
season there and visit.

I reckon the best time to visit Bali is in October. The European and
Australia holidays have finished by then, and you don't get so many
tourists, but the weather is still good. December to February are the
wettest months.

By the way, this is a good web site to get rainfall information
worldwide. For Bali, the relevant page to check is:

Flora can be pretty withered in October after a long period of little rains.
