I just came back from my second adults only resort and enjoy not
having to deal with other peoples children. Is there a listing of
adults only all inclusive resorts anywhere? I tried Googling but all
the links were dead.

There are very few truely adults-only all-inclusives. I'm sure there are more, but the following come to mind: Club Med Turkoise, Club Med Cancun, Hedonism II and Hedonism III in Jamaica, Blue Bay in Cancun, and the two Couples resorts in Jamaica. The Breezes resorts are mainly adults but there are often teenagers admitted. See links to all of these at our master list of all-inclusive resorts at www.LeBeachClub.com.

I thought all Sandals resorts were adults-only (well, couples-only).

My husband and I went to Secrets Excellence in Punta Cana.It was great!!
In January we are going to try Secrets Capri in Mexico. It's located in
the Riviera Maya area. Both resorts are strictly adults only and very
classy. They aren't for couples only but at least in Punta Cana it sure
wasn't a "pick-up" kind of place.

Since the answer to my question so far is no here is a list I have
started with: Destination, Resort Name, Star Rating, Adults Only or
Couples Only. If there are other resorts email me and I will add them
to my list. I know that there are au natural and swingers resorts but
that is not what I am looking to list. Just places where you don't
have to see other peoples kids.

Dave, you can take El Dorado Royale off your list.My husband and I were
their last July and it was just awful. We weren't impressed with the
Maya Riveria at all.

I am curious, any reason you left Club Med (Cancun, Turkoise, various in
Europe)? Leaving Club Med out is a common "tactic" by some portions of
the travel industry; I don't know why, but it is very common. Where did
you research the basic information for your list? Also, what are you
basing the "star" rating on? You should also define what you mean by
adult only, is it 18+, 16+, etc, the resorts vary.

You also left off a bunch of resorts I sent out recently, so I am
curious where your list initially came from, since it didn't come from
this newsgroup? Also missing, Le Sporte, Le Source, Blue Bay Village,
Couples, Swept Away, Aventura Spa Palace, etc.

Thank You,

Steven Goodman

I left Club Med out as I understand that you pay for your beverages
except for beer and wine at meals. I do not see that as falling under
the all inclusive umbrella. As for where I got the information for my
list, I used travel brochures and comercial sites while researching my
own vacation. As I have nothing to do with the travel industry these
are the resources I have available. I used the average rating for
these resorts that was published in these media. I did not look for
the age reference for adults only. Is there a significant difference
in resort atmosphere between the two age cut-offs? I have added Blue
Bay Village, Couples Swept and Away, Aventura Spa Palace. I haven't
had time to locate Le Sporte or Le Source yet. As I said previously
any additions would be helpful as I do have a job and can't spend the
whole day researching. I do enjoy adults only and don't know if I
could go back to a regular resort.

Until recently, Club Med did not include purchases at the bar. However,
last spring they changed the "American Zone" villages to include the
bar and snacks, but only if you are from America and Canada.

A different arguement to include Club Med in lists of all-inclusive
resorts, they started it, and therefore their definition of
all-inclusive is the definition? And CM is a way bigger chain than any
of the others.

I used the average rating for these resorts that was published in these media.

Unfortunately, most of the ratings are pretty bogus. What the resorts
claim often has nothing to do with the "industry standard". Some
resorts now claim to be "six star", whatever that is. Club Med's
trident rating only goes to four.

Is there a significant difference in resort atmosphere between the two age cut-offs?

Well, it depends if you are worried that everyone is over 18, or if that
cute boy/girl at the bar is really 16. But mostly, resorts that allow
14+ or 16+ are going to get more groups of families. And I'm not a big
fan resorts full of high schoolers.
