Default Continental, the airline without a heart

"Flight Attendant" covers male & female attendants on the flight. You have
to live in the USA to see the total effect of "Political Correctness" No
matter what is said, *someone* will be offended. Years ago, I was half
Indian. Today, I'm half Native American.

It's a new cult, the cult of being 'offended'. If people are so
delicate that they go into palpitations when they hear a word that
they wish to approve of, then such persons should remain at home with
the curtains closed avoiding plebvision and the radio.

It is a completely bogus way of trying to pretend to some moral
superiority - call their bluff and point out that you are deeply
offended by morons who presume to tell you what words you can use
inform them that your level of offense is far deeper than theirs. Let
them put that in their pipes and smoke it.

The changes to 'Red Indian' are funny too. Of course it was a mistake
to begin with, with Columbus thinking that he'd got to India, rathe
than America. Now the 'Native American' is another mistake, because
everybody born on the continent of America is a 'Native American' -
just as I'm a Native African. Oh, dear, what foolishness comes from
preciousness!

While not a FF by today's standards, I did log about 10K with them
last year and generally find their service to be superior to most of
the others. That said, even if you're an elite-level traveler, all it
takes is one bad experience for you to switch to another carrier
unless you're in a city that's a fortress hub. After all, a seat's a
seat; what differentiates airlines should be the service and
amenities.

Who would want to be a frequent flyer by 'today's standards'? It means
that you spend far too much time in iron budgies to be able to claim
that you've got a decent job - people with genuinely good jobs can
decide what they wish to do with their time and few intelligent ones
choose to spend it in over-sized cigar tubes. The extra cosmic rays
are bad for you, let alone the low oxygen levels, and DVT potential
from the inactivity. You might as well take up smoking instead...

You're right, of course, about the service. Emirates is going from
strength to strength just on the back of it - the difference between
BA's business class and Emirates business class is amazing, even
though Emirates hasn't got the pig pens it is a better journey because
you feel properly looked after.
