San Francisco Bay Area * Oahu, 2nd week of December?

Setting out on search for RT tickets for 3 people for a 1 week RT from
SF Bay Area to Oahu, going out around Dec 8 (plus or minus a day or so),
returning a week later (also plus or minus a day or so).

Just asking if anyone has any advice on where to focus the search
initially: Looking for good flight, decent price (not necessarily
absolute minimum fare). Any significant difference in cost or
availability for traveling Sat vs Sun vs Mon? Differences in service or
comfort (or reliability) among carriers? Optimum times to book? Best
search sites for this route?

Not much difference in economy among the majors, although I think CO
might still serve food. IMHO, not worth much.
Monday would tend to be cheaper.

If using KAYAK, it should be noted that AA's fares are no longer there.

I am a bit happier now that I didn't go to Stanford.
