Default SAA/Delta Airlines partnership in Peril?

I've heard that South African Airways is about to partner with United
Airlines, putting the Delta/SAA partnership on the rocks. Has anyone
else heard about this?

I hope it's not the case; I've banked almost 120,000 Delta SkyMiles to
use on my next trip to Cape Town!
