A Day @ Home - Finally...
Yesterday, I flew home, SNA-PHX-ABQ. Normally, I fly home on
Saturdays and fly out on Sundays, but this time, my customer does not need to see me until Tuesday, so I'm flying on Monday, ABQ-ORD-RDU (on AA). Ah, a day to relax at home! This morning, my wife and I got up early and went to see the last day of the Albuquerque Balloon Fiesta. I shot about 5 rolls of film, which I'll have processed and scanned as soon as I can, but my wife took some nice shots with one of our digital cameras. I've put them on our website if anyone is interested in seeing brightly-colored hot-air balloons. The sky was lousy with 'em, looked like Walt Disney threw up: http://www.growlery.com/balloon_fiesta/ Anyway, now I have to do my time sheet, status report, expense report, repack my luggage, and tomorrow morning my flight is at 6 or so in the blessed a.m. That plus the fact that the airport will be full of balloon tourists returning home means I have to get up at oh-dark-thirty. Well, back to the grind, it was fun while it lasted... Best Regards, Bill Mattocks |

Nice pictures, Bill. And I have to say, "looked like Walt Disney threw up" gave me a much-needed laugh this morning. Thanks, I'll tell my wife you enjoyed her photography. Hope my film attempts come out as well! In fairness, I should tell you I stole that line from a Burt Reynolds movie "The End" (1978) in which he tries to kill himself with various pills, gets sick, and comments "That looks like Walt Disney threw up" when he wakes up and realizes he's still alive. Enjoy your day off! Wife made peanut-butter cookies! I am a happy boy. Best Regards, Bill Mattocks |
