Tour Name - Ledo-Burma Road
Duration : 16 days - 15 nights
Tour Code : 16 / 15 / LBR
Yangon ( Rangoon ) - Myitkyina - Tanai (Walawbum) - Mogaung - Myitkyina -
Bhamo - Namkhan - Muse - Lashio - Maymyo - Mandalay - Bagan - Yenangyaung -
Taungoo - Rangoon

This is a program to explore the northern part of Myanmar (Burma), totally
untouched by foreign visitors. This is the region where the mountain tribes
such as Jinphaw, Lisu, Rawang, Shan and other ethnic groups live at the foot
of the mountains, on the banks of meandering rivers or in the tropical
forests of the Hukawng Valley, shrouded with the misty memories of the past
especially for those who once came to this part of the World during the
Second World War.

This programme is most suitable to travel between December and April.

DAY 1 (Saturday, December 18, 2004): ARRIVAL BY TG 303
Welcome at the airport and city orientation tour of downtown area. Stay
overnight in Yangon.

Accommodation: Sedona Hotel Yangon.

DAY 2 (Sunday, December 19, 2004): YANGON - MYITKYINA BY FLIGHT (2 Hours)
UB 783 from Yangon to Myitkyina. (Operates Mon, Fri, Sat & Sun only)

Upon arrival, we shall visit nearby villages, the Baptist Church of
Myitkyina, Old Cemetery and former RAF/USAAF airfield. Stay overnight in
Myitkyina.

Accommodation: Xing Xian Hotel.

DAY 3 (Monday, December 20, 2004): MYITKYINA - TANAI BY CAR
The journey will take us about 6 hours. Stay overnight in Tanai.

Accommodation: Shwe Pin Le Guest House.

DAY 4 (Tuesday, December 21, 2004): TANAI - SHINBWIYANG - TANAI BY CAR
Sightseeing in Tanai and environ and proceed to Shinbwiyang. Today, we shall
visit the gold mine there and transfer to the nearest area of the Ledo Road,
as near as the Indian boarder. Shin Bwi Yang, with a war airfield was once
the biggest base camp of Supplies. Stay overnight in Tanai.

Accommodation: Shwe Pin Le Guest House.

DAY 5 (Wednesday, December 22, 2004): TANAI - MOGAUNG BY CAR
Transfer to Mogaung where we will stay overnight.

Accommodation: Shwe Kaba Guest House.

DAY 6 (Thursday, December 23, 2004): MOGAUNG - MYITKYINA BY CAR
We shall visit Mogaung bridge and nearby areas. Stay overnight in Myitkyina.

Accommodation: Xing Xian Hotel.

DAY 7 (Friday, December 24, 2004): MYITKYINA - BHAMO BY BOAT OR BY CAR
The boat trip from Myitkyina to Bhamo is said to be one of a kind, passing
through narrow gorges while savoring the natural beauty of the Ayeyarwady
River. The fare for foreigner is about Ks 12,000 per person (about US 15)
and the journey takes approximately 6-7 hours. The capacity is about 40 to
50 people.

A defile near SINBO has very strong current.

If you do not wish to travel by boat, we will travel by car from Myitkyina
to Bhamo instead.

The journey takes approximately 7-8 hours. Stay overnight in Bhamo.

Accommodation: Friendship Hotel.

DAY 8 (Saturday, December 25, 2004): BHAMO - NAMKHAN - MUSE BY CAR
Early morning departure at 6:00 AM and approximate time of arrival in
Namkhan will be at 02:00PM.

Visit Namkhan including the famous Dr. Gordon Seagrave's hospital, Reclining
Buddha and Namkhan Bazaar. Continue our journey to Muse (1 hour drive from
Namkhan) where we shall stay overnight.

Accommodation: Sein Yadana Hotel.

DAY 9 (Sunday, December 26, 2004): MUSE - LASHIO - HSIPAW - MAYMYO BY CAR
Transfer to Maymyo passing through winding roads and riding along the Burma
Road where we will stay overnight.

Accommodation: Royal Park View Hotel.

DAY 10 (Monday, December 27, 2004): MAYMYO - MANDALAY BY CAR
We leave for Mandalay today (1.5 hours drive) after a brief visit around
Maymyo.
Some sightseeing in Mandalay is also included. Stay overnight in Mandalay.

Accommodation: Sedona Hotel Mandalay.

DAY 11 (Tuesday, December 28, 2004): MANDALAY - BAGAN BY FLIGHT
Depending upon arrival time, some sightseeing in Bagan. Stay overnight in
Bagan.

Accommodation: Bagan Golf Resort.

DAY 12 (Wednesday, December 29, 2004): BAGAN
Spend your leisure time and stay overnight in Bagan.

Accommodation: Bagan Golf Resort.

DAY 13 (Thursday, December 30, 2004): BAGAN - YENANGYAUNG - MEIKHTILAR BY
CAR
Transfer to Meikhtilar via Yenangyaung visiting the old oil fields in the
area. Stay overnight in Meikhtilar.

Accommodation: Honey Guest House.

DAY 14 (Friday, December 31, 2004): MEIKHTILAR - TAUNGOO BY CAR
Transfer to Taungoo, and explore the town where it used to be the training
place for the Flying Tigers.
Stay overnight in Taungoo.

Accommodation: Amazing Kaytu Hotel.

DAY 15 (Saturday, January 01, 2005): TAUNGOO - YANGON BY CAR
We will transfer you to Yangon via Bago where major sightseeing will follow.
On arrival in Yangon, transfer to the hotel for check-in. Stay overnight in
Yangon.

Accommodation: Sedona Hotel Yangon.

DAY 16 (Sunday, January 02, 2005): DEPARTURE BY TG 306
Free at leisure. Hotel room is secured until departure.

The following are the only two flights that leave Rangoon in the evening.

8M221 Rangoon/Bangkok 1700/1845
TG306 Rangoon/Bangkok 1950/2135
8M = Myanmar Airways International
TG = Thai Airways International

PRICE: USD 1,600 per person sharing a twin room, USD 1,800 per person in a
single room.

The above tour cost includes:
