About time we did away with states in Australia, as it is 100+ years
since federation.

Raffi,
Most Eastern staters from NSW and Vic. actually do believe
Australia ends at their bordsers, its a great dumb mentality.
If you dont come from thosw states you cant know anything
mentality that is seen quite often in managements of companies.
And thne there is Queenslanders who think that no other state
exists.
and Western Australian sand gropers who consider anything
east of the border of WA ans SA is nonexistent except when they are
talking to a SA person then that SA person is from the Middle East
and when talking to a NSW/Vic /Qld person then that person is
from the Far East!!!!
Arent we a Colloquial "states rights" mob..
but we are all supposedly Australian!!!

NO the opposite.
The eastern states need to realise that there is
more to Australia than Sydney and Melbourne.

Default AUD exchange rate?

Reminds me of the old joke about the senior in Newfoundland talking about
Confederation: "I'm sure glad we joined the rest of Canada, I really hated
that boat ride..." Probably Dubya would think the ride would be shorter...

If the US continues its trade and fiscal deficits, the IMF will make them
link the greenback to the Argentine peso, rather than the other way
around...

Default AUD exchange rate?

I think the Aussie dollar is a commodity play like our Canuck buck.
The Aussies are alted to have one of the strongest economies this year.
Would suggest that the Aussie dollar will continue to rise this year
This is still a volatile time for currency adjustments
