Fly-drive packages

Do these still exist?

If so, and if you're heading to UK/Scotland,
run, do not walk, from National Car Rental.

In fact, even if your rental is not part of a fly-drive
package, avoid National like the plague.

I rented from them a year ago, and to this day,
they are still harassing me! AmEx has patiently
dealt with them, but they appear to be so clueless
and disorganized, that I wonder if the matter will
ever be resolved!

Going into the details would take forever.
Be it said that I acted correctly and in good faith,
but they appear to be a few beers short of a six-pack.

I do NOT go around posting impulsive, frivolous
"I hate X provider", but in this case it's a public service.

My second rental was from Arnold Clark, a local
provider. Absolutely trouble-free. I would rent
from them anytime, but would crawl before
renting from National.

I've rented around a dozen times from National Car Rental in the UK over the
past year. Absolutely no problems. Excellent service and vehicles. Used both
Gateshead and Heathrow Airport branches.

How are they harassing?

Providing some details might help us decide why we should avoid them,
other than just following you blindly. You might have a valid point, but
we need to know what the reasons are.
