I'll be driving from Toronto to DC. Can anyone advise a nice & quick route
from Toronto to DC by road ?? Also, I would be taking a plane to Fort
Lauderdale & arriving at about 10 pm. Is there any economy hotel within
walking distance from the airport ?? Appreciate for any advise.

Thanks

QEW to Buffalo.

After customs veer right to onramp
for I-190.

- I-190 to I-90 West/Albany. A left exit,
so get at least into middle lane soon
after you hit I-90.

- I-90 (toll road) to I-390 South
which becomes 17 and not always a
superhighway, 6 traffic lights
in Horseheads.

- 17 to I-81 South

[For scenery take the Big Bend exit
shortly after Bingamton. The McDonalds'
has picnic tables out back on the Big Bend
of the Susquehannah. Quite pretty.]

- I-81 to I-83 South

- I-695 to bypass Baltimore and to
catch I-95 to the Washington Beltway
which is I-95 on the east and I-495
on the west.

Nice route. Other altenates would be to take the new ferry from
Toronto to Rochester and catch I-380 there, or to take 401 to the 1000
Islands Bridge and catch I-81 there.

BTW, I hope the original poster is aware that Washington has three
airports which are far apart. IAD-Dulles, which is located FAR in the
suburbs to the NW of town, DCA-Reagan National, which is located on a
manmade island in the Potomac river just yards from all of the
government buildings and Arlington Cemetary, and
BWI-Baltimore-Washington, which is in the Baltimore suburbs.

Not to mention that the boat was just seized by the sheriff in Rochester.
