Kid-friendly Manhattan hotel?

Hi there.

We're traveling to Manhattan this December, and are looking for a
kid-friendly hotel that won't bust our budget. I'm aware of the
Embassy Suites in south Manhattan, which would have a separate
room/bed for our two toddlers.

Any other suggestions?

Almost any hotel will have two double beds in a double room. I have a
feeling that in a strange place, toddlers wouldn't be very happy in a
separate room.
