Large satellite view of Africa
http://www.earthsat.com/ArcIMS/africa/viewer.htm Be sure to activate the 'Populated Points' layer, it makes navigation much easier. The level of detail is not optimal (this is a demo for a commercial product), but it is still one of the nicest view I have seen that covers the continent extensively at that level of details. Landsat or STS pictures are more detailed, but they generally cover only a small spot, often with high angles. This one gives you the whole continent. It is actually a mosaic made from rectified images. I wonder how much the full-detail commercial product costs. And if you like the picture, you will like the simulated one, calculated every 10 minutes with cloud cover updated eight times a day : http://www.ruwenzori.net/earth/earth1024.html http://www.ruwenzori.net/earth/earth1600.html |
