Train - Florence (IT) to Visp (CH)

Hi there, I'm going to be in France/Italy/Switzerland in February, and would appreciate travel advice as I have never been there before. I would like to travel from Florence to Visp by train - is this possible with minimal connections? From playing around on websites like www.sbb.ch and www.tgv.com, I can't seem to find an easy way to do this. If it is possible to do this trip with only 1 or 2 connections, how long would this take? www.sbb.ch will give you all possible connections on Firenze - Visp (remember how it is written in Italian, it does come in handy...). If it isn't listed on www.sbb.ch it isn't there... Just checked, and the website lists 12 daily connections, with between one and three transfers. No direct trains though. Time is between 6 and 6 1/2 hours... Alternatively, if it is just too difficult, I can go from Paris to Visp which I presume would be slightly easier. Any thoughts there? No. Paris Visp will involve some connections too. Time is also around 6 hours. Krist |
