Default Travel NZ november?

I'm planning NZ in 2007.
Is november in general a good period?
At the moment I see low temperatures and plenty of rain.

Some years ago I visited NZ in October/November and the weather was not an
issue. The locals say, "if you do not like the weather, just wait five
minutes."

If you have hay fever, keep in mind that November is springtime in NZ, and
take some medication with you. (I did not think of it!)

You'll love New Zealand!
