Oceania Reports Record Booking Day on Aug. 15

On Aug. 15, the company took 856 new reservations which account for approximately $10.9 million in new revenue. Oceania opened its new Australia and New Zealand itineraries for sale on Aug. 15 and the line said booking levels have far exceeded its expectations. The company also noted that it is experiencing unprecedented demand for the 2007 European season and that occupancy and yield performance for season are exceptional. "The extraordinary demand for the Oceania Cruises experience speaks volumes to our superior product delivery, exceptional value proposition and the overall level of confidence in overseas travel," said Frank Del Rio, president and CEO of Oceania. The company's new Australia and New Zealand itineraries were launched yesterday and approximately 30 percent of the inventory has already been sold with two voyages more than 50 percent sold. The 2007 European season is also experiencing record demand with close to 50 percent of the entire season's inventory already booked. Oceania's three ships are deployed in Europe from April through November and feature 53 departures on 21 distinct itineraries to the Mediterranean, Greek Isles and Scandinavia. The company's offer of free airfare and 2-for-1 cruise fares for the 2007 European season expires on Aug. 31 at which time fares on many voyages will be raised.
