I have heard that the offer which is a refund and 30% off for a future
cruise, is for the sold cruises that have to be canceled. That the
offer is not for the ill fated cruise.

Perhaps they could use it on the refurbished Concordia. There was an
article in the paper yesterday that said it could be back cruising in
a few months.

Sounds ambitious to me.

That has to have been based on old info, certainly before they started
blasting new holes in it to try to find the missing victims. The latest
I've read says it will never sail again, at least not as a cruise ship.

You mean Carnival is known for being cheap on comp offers.

No, I mean Costa, because it's Costa that is making the offer, not
Carnival (although they own Costa).

Sure, and Costa doesn't dance to Mickey's tune.

What world do you live in.

The New York Daily News started apparently this rumor, and now Carnival

Because it's not true?

What is true is that passengers who were already at their hotels waiting
for the cruise (it seems like you could board in different ports) were
also only offered the 30% discount and Costa did not offer anything for
their airfare changes unless they had booked their air thru Costa. I
haven't been paying attention to that so I do not know if they sweetened
the deal, but I did read a quote shortly after the accident from someone
who was in Barcelona waiting for the cruise and was going to have to
stick around for a week before her return flight was due to leave.

Apparently Costa is known for being cheap on compensation offers.

More proof of the necessity of buying trip insurance.

It was in Sunday's paper so it could have changed.
