New web site for interesting places

Hi,
I got very tired of trying to find interesting, out-of-the-way places
using conventional travel sites, so I built a site for people to share
information on neat places to visit. It's a wiki-style site; anyone
can add or edit a place. It uses google maps and has photo uploading.


I'd be interested to know what people think, and would be thrilled if
you decide to add some places! The site is at www.placewiki.com

It is a nice idea but would be better if people wrote a paragraph or
two describing what is interesting about the place rather than just
giving an url.

www.placewiki.com lets you put in an arbitrary length description. For
example, check out the entry for Battleship Cove:
