This will be interesting going forward as I will be carrying a copy
of the rules right beside my Mastercard. Next time - no prisoners. I have the 800 number and the rules - and my cell phone. Bravo! Well done! It is a pain in the butt to have to deal with ignorant merchants in this fashion, but if we all did it, I really believe that the incidence of identity theft would drop dramatically. A happy side-effect is a noticeable drop in the amount of junk mail received.
