Boeing 777 runs out of air
On 1/18/2008 8:56 PM Chilly8 ignored two million years of human
evolution to write: One would think that on any transatlantic flight the tanks will filled to 100 percent of capacity. Well, see, that's your problem. You can't think. You're too stupid. -- dgs |

Boeing 777 runs out of air

The main thing is that you can test the effects of particular actions & failures on a simulator that you would not *dare* to do in real life. Thus they are great for safely training a person to cope with an emergency situation where a wong move in real life would kill you or cause a lot of damage. I don't think they use the MS simulator for this. That is the only one Chilly knows about. No, they don't, though the later MS simulators are pretty neat toys that simulate a remarkable range of situations fairly accurately. They are *very* suitable for learning and training for IFR procedure holds, arrivals and departures, and can save the PPL pilot who is undertaking such training quite a bit of money. -- Cynic |
