Airbus A380 makes Heathrow debut
The world's largest passenger aircraft will fly into and out of
Heathrow for the first time on March 18

The biggest passenger aircraft in the world will make its commercial
debut in Britain in March.

The Airbus A380 will fly from Singapore into Heathrow on March 18,
which will also be the first A380 commercial service to Europe.

Singapore Airlines takes delivery of its third A380 in mid-March,
enabling the airline to start service to London.

The first two have flown on the Singapore-Sydney route since their
launch last October.

The first A380 flight to London, SQ 308, will leave Singapore's Changi
Airport on Tuesday, March 18 at 9am and arrive at Heathrow at 3.05pm
the same day.

The aircraft will return to Singapore on the same day, operating as SQ
319, departing Heathrow at 6.55pm, arriving back into Singapore at
3.35hpm on Wednesday.

"The A380 will provide a capacity expansion on the popular Singapore-
London route," sais SAI's executive vice president Huang Cheng Eng.

"For the first time, an aircraft larger than the B747-400 will fly
this route, thereby meaning more seats without the need for more
frequencies to what is already one of the world's busiest airports."

Seats on A380 services, including the inaugural flights, are open for
sale at www.singaporeair.com - customers on the inagural flights will
receive personalised certificates.

The Singapore Airlines A380 seats 471 passengers in three classes - 12
in suites, 60 in Business Class and 399 in Economy Class.

Yep, excellent if you have money.
Not so excellent for economy passengers hearing all the hype of the
extra space they would get in an A380

According to SeatGuru 32 inch pitch, the same as the 777-300 ER

An AA 767-300 gives you 33 to 34 inches of pitch

Now we have the hype of "green" flight.
Maybe we will pay more attention when thy can manage all of the engines
running on the fuel. So, I guess we can forget about feeind people, we
will just "grow" fuel.
