going to Netherlnds for work in Jan for 3 weeks. weekends will be free and
request info on how to spend time in Amsterdam - also info on cheap lodgings
would be appreciated

A friend of mine has a B&B in Haarlem. Single is 29 euro per night

Why only visit A'dam if you've got 2 or 3 weekends? Visit Rotterdam, Utrecht
and The Hague too if you're
into cities! I mean, there's so much more than just bloody Amsterdam ;-)

well, to the whole world AMS is the entire nation of 'netherlands'
['holland' to those ppl].
begium is a couple hours of train ride away and much more interesting in so
many ways.
