If I got the right area on my Yahoo maps, it looks like the
Fisherman's Wharf area is just 2-3 miles from the cruise ports.
Is this correct?

Kurt, back in 2001 we stayed overnight at the Sheraton Fisherman's Wharf.

I was still fairly mobile at the time and we walked to Fisherman's Wharf in
the afternoon, and when Danni went to empty the dog in the evening she
walked all the way over to the pier.

The SF Port website did not give me an address, other than the
Embarcadero, so it was sorta hard to narrow it done that close. Thanks.

The Embarcadero is many miles long, and so the Port is miles long.

Cruise ships dock at Pier 35. Fisherman's Wharf starts around Pier
39, but the traditional part is around Pier 45. These are old piers,
and not far apart. See http://www.fishermanswharf.org/AreaMap.htm.

Go to maps.google.com and enter "pier 35 san francisco to pier 39 san
francisco".
