Just check your bags when you get to the airport.

It's been a while since I was there, but there was luggage storage at the
airport, it was a manned counter, $2 per bag or something. It was the ships
representative that told us about it, so if you are leaving from San Juan
ask the person waiting for you about it.

That was a few years ago, don't know if they still have it or not. You may
have to call them and ask, they don't have a very good site online. You can
try checking your bags in early, check with your airport to see how early
you can drop them off and check in for the flight, if it's early enough you
can then grab a back to town, then come back for the flight.

There are also hotels on the airport or very close to it that may hold bags
for you.

If you have any 2way radios you can count on them being confiscated at San
Jaun airport, they took ours and left a note in our check in luggage

I'm assuming your cruise left from PR & your referring to an FRS radio.
Were they returned when you left?

I just checked around & can't understand why your radio's were confiscated.
Although they aren't legal to use on a lot of the islands, they are legal to
use in PR.

Here's the section of Part 95 that deals
with FRS use abroad. (From the FCC web site.)

Sec. 95.192 (FRS Rule 2) Authorized locations.

(a) Provided that you comply with these rules, you are authorized to
operate an FRS unit:
(1) Within or over any area of the world where radio services are
regulated by the FCC (this area includes the fifty United States and the
District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, the United States
Virgin Islands (50 islets and cays), American Samoa (seven islands), the
Commonwealth of Northern Marianna Islands, and Guam Island);
(2) Within or over any other area of the world, except within or
over the territorial limits of areas where radio services are regulated
by an agency of the United States other than the FCC or any foreign
government (you are subject to its rules);
(3) Aboard any vessel or aircraft registered in the United States,
with the permission of the captain, that is within or over any area of
the world where radio services are regulated by the FCC or upon or over
international waters

I don't think they were taken by the TSA. I think they were just plain
taken, probably by somebody who knew the bag was opened by the TSA figuring
you would blame them. Nothing says "hey, take stuff from me" more then the
TSA tape.

It's probably a plain case of luggage theft, there is no reason what so ever
to remove a perfectly legal radio in a place it's perfectly legal to use.
Somebody brought them home for their kids.
