QANTAS To Reopen Aus-Korea service
AAP National carrier Qantas Airways Ltd has reopened services on its
Australia-Korea line for the first time since 1998. Qantas executive general manager John Borghetti said the seasonal service, which will operate between December 28, 2005 and February 5, 2006, was being introduced to meet demand during the traditional Korean New Year peak period. "The market between Korea and Australia is growing. The number of Korean visitors travelling to Australia has increased by 10 per cent in the last 12 months and by 24 per cent over the past five months," Mr Borghetti said. "These services will assist in further stimulating traffic between the two countries." The 18 return services between Brisbane and Seoul will operate on Wednesday, Friday and Sunday using two-class Boeing 767-300 aircraft. Qantas will continue its code share arrangement on Asiana Airlines' daily services from Sydney to Seoul. |
