It's sounds like Gatorade.
For dehydration the best "cure" is water with a wedge of lemon or lime
(electrolytes).
I've been told that the fruit helps with water absorbtion (personally I
don't care why it works).
This is what I use when I'm hiking (a typically day of a multiday hike is
4-6 hours and the altitude difference is typically 1000m/3300ft).

I used copius amounts of beer. Sent me to sleep for ages and when I finally
got out of bed I was on local time.
