Does the Cholera epidemic in Haiti effect sales of RCI ships to Labadee?
Would you go on a cruise to Labadee or would you choose to go on an alternative itinerary? Gadget |

wrote: The cholera epidemic has no effect on my lack of desire to go to Haiti. There has been no effect on Labadee. The cruise ships are continuing to call at Labadee. The cruise line does not get its food or water from contaminated areas of Haiti. The water at Labadee is purified and is safe to drink. All food served on the island is brought from the ship. -- Charles |

So long as RCI does the same thing for all passengers (which they do). And RCI doesn't come out loudly and talk about it being Haiti. They often call it Hispaniola. Or just call it Labadee. --Tom |

Until the earthquake I don't think they ever talked about it actually being in Haiti. They just called it their private island. Bill |

The island is Hispaniola.
Labadee is not a real island, but it is separated from the mainland by the mountain range and is not accessible by land as there are no roads over the mountains. Gadget |
