Delta Queen Steam Boat company ?
I just received a brochure from a different steam boat Co, was it sold
or changed their name? It has all the paddle wheelers & the western ones too on it , Except the Mississippi Queen on it. Was the Delta Queen Boat company sold. Or Did they buy back their western boats that they had to sell right after 911, to keep from going bankrupt? What happened to or where is the Mississippi Queen. Any of you T.A. know the story & can fill me in. Feel free to E-mail me if you know. |

Delta Queen Steam Boat company ?
They had gone through financial difficulties before and never
recovered from 9/11. They were sold once, which was a break, as they were able to move their operations north after Katrina. Now they are lumped in with Majestic America. Those of us who are previous cruisers get a bit of a benefit as we can now be considered repeat customers for the Northwest and Alaska cruises. The downside is I miss the homey atmosphere of the old Delta Queen company's advertising as they are now lumped in with the other ships. |
