Can't answer for the Gold Coast. On the Tweed Coast we have shared bicycle/footpaths, seperate from the road, fairly continuously down the Coast Road from Cabarita to Pottsville, and a new skateboard thingy near Cabarita. I've seen some skaters on the bike paths, but it's not a culture like Long Beach or Santa Monica. As far as whether it's worth bringing them, you can buy them here so it depends on whether you want to add the weight. Cheers, Alan -- |

Unfortunately Gold Coast council loves to use pebbles set in the concrete.
My daughters not so happy about roller blading on the foot paths! Not good for your wheels. -- http://realestategoldcoast.net "Peter" wrote in message news:MPG.1b883c81904c1e53989b8c@news-server... Not only RollerBlades, but *any* brand of inline skates are commonly used. By all means bring them. All along the beachfront at Surfers Paradise is a broad footpath which is commonly used by skaters, jogglers, walkers, cyclists etc. Southport has one fronting the Broadwater. No vehicles allowed except for road sweepers about five in the morning sucking up the sand and syringes. Peter, in chilly Canberra ***SIGH*** |
