I Hope This Isn't True.
From 1979 until 1996 I worked in a video store located at Castor and Knorr,
and every day I was responsible for taking the deposits and going to the bank, and I never ever felt threatened. -- DG in Cherry Hill, NJ LOL.....Sounds like MOVIES UNLMITED! That used to be my video store when I still rented. I'm sure we must know each other...however remotely. I began renting from you guys shortly after you opened up through the mid 90's. Bringing back OLD memories! I was born in Philadelphia, lived in Port Richmond as a kid growing up in the 1940s, and moved to Nicetown in the 50s. I can attest that Kensington was not an upper class neighborhood even then, more like stable blue collar. Of course, it seemed upper class to me as a kid, as we were very poor. I left Philly in the 60s as soon as I got out of college and have never been back. But relatives who are still in the area tell me that the old neighborhood in Nicetown is now a jungle and you do not want to venture there even in daytime. Kensington, however, is still stable blue collar. Never heard the term "Badlands" but I can guess what it means. Jim |

Thank you for shopping with us. It is the oldest continually operating
video store at the same location in the United States, 25 years. -- DG in Cherry Hill, NJ "PARNAMI" wrote in message ... JIM; KENSINGTON has been on all the news show's and t.v.many times and
the philadelphia inquire had a large spread on it with pictures,a couple of years ago,and has long been known as the BADLANDS,yes it seemed like an upper class section, because we also were poor,am old enough to remember the depression |
