I'm definitely going there next time in Vegas. ( Might even rent a 'go-fast' car for a few days to cover the 120 miles)

From google I got:
http://news.nationalgeographic.com/n...andcanyon.html

August 26, 2005—Fear of heights? This is definitely no place for you. The all-glass, balcony-like "Skywalk"--shown in an illustration released this week--will extend over the edge of the Grand Canyon, 4,000 feet (1,200 meters) above the Colorado River. "The Skywalk will be an attraction unlike any other in the world," said Sheri Yellowhawk, CEO of the Grand Canyon Resort Corporation. The company is building the bridge in the Hualapai Indian Reservation on the south rim of the canyon.

The resort, known as Grand Canyon West, is to include a re-created Indian village and a restaurant perched on the edge of the canyon. Tourism is the reservation's biggest source of income. Grand Canyon West will be on the western edge of Grand Canyon National Park, about 120 miles (about 200 kilometers) from Las Vegas. But perhaps not even the Las Vegas Strip's over-the-top attractions will be a match for this glass-bottom walkway over the world's biggest gorge.
—David Braun

Per http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Grand_Canyon_Skywalk
The Skywalk will be able to hold 70 tons of weight, allowing for 800 people weighing 175 lbs. each to stand on the bridge. The allowed capacity will be limited to only 120 persons.... The glass bridge construction of the Skywalk began March of 2004 and is estimated to be completed by early 2007.

Without question one of the cheesiest tourist traps ever built ... hope
you enjoy it They are also getting a lot of negative feedback from
enviromental groups about this project.

The whole "Grand Canyon West" motif is designed to siphon a few tourist
dollars away from the two main north and south rim visitor areas to the
Indian tribes but the truth is there's not a whole lot there for
tourists compared to other areas.

I can see why but think it would be worth seeing once.
I've read that you can't get a view like that otherwise.
