Default Boracay - Accomodation

Hi There,

We are planning to go to Boracay at the end of Februar beginning of March.

Anyone has a good tip on Resorts or Private Accomodations?
Does Maestro work over there?
And do they have GSM or GPRS?

Regards

Bart -Switzerland

At least two GSM networks cover boracay. Your best bet is to buy a
local SIM card for a few hundred Pesos and use that while you are
here. I don't know about GPRS.

Regarding accommodations, see http://www.mbungalows.com,
http://www.boracayisland.org, and many other pages. Rooms should be
easy to find in late feb and early mar, vs. nearly impossible to find
in late mar and early apr.

on Boracay.

And do they have GSM or GPRS?

Yes, and yes.

Hello Bart

Maestro works in Bank of the Philippine Islands (BPI) machines but I have no
idea if they have any atm machines on Boracay island. BPI is one of the
better banks because they will allow you to withdraw P20,000 in a single
withdrawal. many Philippines banks only allow P4,000 or P5,000 at a time.

Here is a website that has lots of info on Boracay:
http://www.boracayisland.org/

My recommendation for accommodation is to book accommodation for the first
night then spend your first day looking for the best deal for the type of
accommodation you seek.

I have no idea about GSM or GPRS but if your mobile 'phone is triband it
will work in the Philippines.
